Looking back on START 3.0: Inside the accelerator

x

From sustainable fuels and precision medicines to molecular sensing, intelligent buildings and AI-led investigations, the START 3.0 cohort brought together University of Cambridge-connected companies working across AI, life sciences and deep tech.

Over 24 weeks, founders developed the commercial strategies for their companies with support from experienced mentors, operators and investors. They refined their business models, strengthened their routes to market and considered how best to communicate their global ambitions.

In this short film, members of the cohort introduce what they are building and reflect on what helped them move forward: tailored one-to-one support, practical advice from people who have built and scaled companies, learning from their peers and connections with investors and experts in Cambridge and the US.

START’s Entrepreneurs-in-Residence and the Operator-in-Residence share the other side of those relationships, from acting as strategic thinking partners to helping founders strengthen their narratives and make informed decisions as their ventures grow.

Featuring reflections from: Winny Sanchita (Programme Manager); Professor James Dooley and Dr Katerina Palios (AILA Biotech); Dr Deepanshu Singh and Friederike Nintzel (Neela Biotech); Anna Winter and Dr Sam Davies (Auralytica); Dr Edward Cartwright (AdcoTx); Jack Alderman, Harry Alderman and Beth Martin-Board (Satorus Group); Dr Matias Acosta (Cosysense); Professor Ljiljana Fruk and Dr Ioannis Prattis (Senesys.Bio); Kristian Segerstrale and Vivian Chan, PhD (Entrepreneurs-in-Residence) and Katy Turner (Operator-in-Residence).
